I am a Linux fanboy and run Ubuntu at home. However, I will be throwing a Windows 7 houseparty at my work to demonstrate Windows 7 new features. This will be a must have for any new workstation purchase. Win7 also maintains XP backwards compatibility with their XP VM.

Windows 7 runs like a dream, now if they can get Windows 7 mobile up and going in the next 20 years, that would be nice! tic-tock tic-tock!

I think Windows 7 is a huge improvement over XP and would recommend everyone upgrade.

Agreed, especially at the $130 price point. If you have a machine so old it has to run XP to run well, it probably doesn't have much life left in it anyway. Better to wait and just get Windows 7 preloaded on your next PC than pour that kind of money into an aging machine.

It's a pretty simple choice, if you have Vista then upgrading to Windows 7 is a no brainer, but if you have XP on an older machine then it's probably not worth it.
