A lot of people I spoke with that have Verizon went with the Storm 2 for it's ease of use, and I suspect most people are going that route. The Droid is no doubt a cool phone, but it's design and complicated OS put off a lot of consumers.

Had the first one and the second storm (well software of) and seriously disenchanted. The first time I used the Storm as an entertainment locator, I was out with my girlfriends and we were ready to find something happening in town. I had 0 connectivity. Ended up calling my husband to help us find something. Then I contacted Verizon and they had me reformat the phone, I lost all my emails, texts and music I loaded onto it. Ya I thought the BB Desk Manager would help but it didn't. Then the day I decided I was sick of it was when I was on the bus checking out stock quotes and switched to a video of this guys recommendations and the phone freaking locked up!!! I used my company phone to call tech support and they said, "remove the back and take out the battery"... HUH? is this going to happen allot? I took the phone back and they loaded the software onto my BB that they said, basically makes it a Storm 2. I have to admit, much more responsive and the applications are more user friendly BUT, still that weird clicking of the "faceplate" (I don't know what they call it) I am ready for the technology of the Droid. Touch, no clicking.... Storm's design is just too big and heavy too. I tried to take pictures with it and though the pictures are unbelievable, it is really a heavy phone to hold with one hand the way you have to, in order to take pictures. Then when I film a video, it won't shut off until I press the button 2 to 3 times. Sorry Blackberry but you lost me ... I am waiting anxiously for my new DROID coming in the mail Tuesday. Wooohooo!!

Hi Libbi,
Thanks for the feedback. I have been able to spend more time with the Droid since I originally posted and the phone as definitely grown on me. The OS can be pretty complicated if you want it to, but the good thing is that it can be easy as well. The Storm never impressed me. It did feel heavy and bulky and the clickable screen just didn't feel right. There are people that swear by it though. If I ever had to constantly remove the battery of my phone (I have a BB Pearl) just to reset it, it would be in the garbage by now!

I picked up mine last friday, launch day, to replace my LG Env2. Very happy with my purchase, though I have some minor complaints about the keyboard and the battery life. Battery life is crappy on all smart phones though.
